On this day of 2009, Barack Obama became the 44th president of the United States. When I found this beer from Avery Brewing last month, I knew I had to save it for inauguration day. The cloudy deep gold color is topped with a thick head that sticks to glass. An aroma heavy with alcohol lingers over the glass with lots of hops to add to the enticing odor of this beer. As soon as it hit the pallet, the flavors filled the mouth quickly with sticky malts that work to keep the later tastes in your mouth. Hops dominated this as soon as the rich taste thought about fading. Very bitter and strong they showed their true power at the very end where theyu took the final blow to the taste buds. Let us all wish the best to the new President; Ale to the Chief!
