John Labatt - PorterThe next to last in my sampler pack of Labatt Signature brews. I was hoping this was going to be good, but it wasn’t. The beer began well with a nice pour, slightly larger head than the other sampler beers and with a black color. That’s a couple of things I look for in a porter. The aroma is where this one began to fall apart. There really wasn’t that nice chocolate and coffee aroma. In fact there wasn’t much of anything, perhaps some weak roasted malts. The taste had some porter taste hidden behind all the watery taste. Another brewery trying to make a porter for the masses and misses the point. Stay away from this unluess you like that sort of thing.
