Anchor Brewing - Chirstmas Ale 2008Each year they change the label and the recipe for this beer. Click here for the past labels. This is my first year having this beer. It poured up very dark brown to black with a fluffy cappuccino head. The aroma was sweet and had some evident spices to it. The initial taste was sweet to sour with spices. The finish of the beer included roasted malt and hoppy bitters coming through. The initial taste wasn’t as good as the finish, so a lower overall score. On the first day of Christmas I got a new beer!

12 Days of Christmas: Year 2Chris and I had a good time doing the 12 days of Christmas last year, so we decided to do it again this year. This time I could not let Chris pick out the beers by himself. All of our beers for the 12 days of Christmas came from the Anderson’s in Toledo. The majority of the beers this year are domestics that can only be bought regionally. Keep checking back the next 12 days to find out how these beers do and see if they are worth that trip off to grandmother’s house!
