broughton-old-jock-aleSo after the comment left by Ken, I figured I would break out a Scottish import. The dark red color is almost brown with an aroma of a pretty classic ale. This is incredibly deceptive. While it may look plain and boring, the taste is malty and deep with a small roasted finish on the end of the main body. Only the staunchest hops could have left this brew with a bitter finish, but there was such a complex malts that they never had a chance. This was quite sweet, strong and bold — just like any good product of Scotland. As filling as the beer was, I definitely wanted to drink another because of the refreshing taste.

Specs: 12oz bottle
