A special thanks goes out to Flying Dog for their recent gift of this beer to Chris and I. Chris decided that I should drink one of these from Flying Dog as free beer tastes better. I am sure there is some long mathematical equation on how to figure that one out, but onto the beer! This caramel colored beer left almost no head when poured. The sweet malts come through quite nicely. The taste was sweet, and not like the other marzen beers I have had this year. It was not overly sweet, and didn’t have the spice that the others did. It had a nice caramel finish in the taste, and the deeper roasted malts made it a good beer to come home to today. I am going to see if one of the local stores has any of this left so that I can share some with my wife who ended up trying it and liking it as well.
