This is a limited release beer from Samuel Adams. I can proudly say that out of their 6 Extreme Beers, I have had 3 of them. This particular bottle, and the other two my brother picked up were purchased from a store here in Toledo (Beer and Wine Cave). If you are in the area, I suggest you get over there before they sell out as he only had about two cases. This limited beer poured up black as I expected for a bock. The previous bock beers I have had do not compare to this one. The sweet aroma did not give off any hints to me. The taste was surprising. I was expecting more sweetness than this one really had. It was sweet, but not over powering. The blended malts created the sweetness and the chocolates from Felchlin were not detected until I was done taking my drink and opened my mouth up. The bitterness was subtle, but evident. With this being a limited release I had to get an extra bottle for myself to put on shelf for a rainy day, or to give away. Perhaps one day I will open my last bottle of Samuel Adams’ Triple Bock (1998). A special congratulations to Karen and Stephen Toon on the birth of their first child Elliot, and another to myself as I was offered a new job at my company. This was a good beer to celebrate with.
