This dark brew is from a small Michigan brewery. My mother brought me back a growler of this beer for me (Thanks Mom!). This dark, dark beer had a wonderful chocolate colored head on it. The aroma of coffee was very much there. The taste is what they said on their page, “strong notes of coffee and chocolate flavors.” Surprisingly you get them in about that order. A coffee taste, followed by the bitter chocolate that you get if you have ever eaten baker’s chocolate. I was left with almost a dry taste in my mouth from the bitters. This was a bit fresher and I was able to drink it all in one night (Sorry Chris!) unlike the .38 Special from before.

Specs: 64oz Growler
