This Oktoberfest märzen is from Dundee. It has a creative bottle with a good story on the back, we will get to that later. The beer poured up with a nice head on the top and a color not too different than looking at the world though the brown bottle it came in. The entire aroma will escape me until I am over my cold, but it does smell a bit sweet. The taste has some sweetness to the malts and the hops add just a bit of bitters at the end. This is a good one to start off the Oktoberfest week!

Chris and I thought we would jump in as the Oktoberfest celebration ended yesterday. We will be reviewing a Oktoberfest beer each day for the next seven days. Oktoberfest is a sixteen to eighteen day festival held each year. The lagers of Oktoberfest are called märzen which are about 5-6% ABV. If you haven’t tried one of these seasonal beers, go out and get yourself one, or do what Chris and I do, buy a lot of them!
