Pale+Bock+Lager=? This brew had trouble right from the get-go. Check out the color; an amber tone with a creamy head to top it off. It certainly smells of a pale, but this is no ale – it’s a lager. The body is like a bock with full malts, a bitterness that is constant throughout is quite shocking when the taste is quite dark. Towards the the finish of this bottle, the taste got better, around 50 degrees or so it finished great. When it was colder, the finish was harsh, but keeping at higher than fridge temp would make this very drinkable on any occasion.
