I never thought I would see and taste such a beer. Take a look at the picture, this beer is opaque and almost black all the way through. The aroma is a bit hoppy. So far it looks like a stout, smells like an IPA, but what does it taste like? Well it kind of tastes like both. The first wave of bitters is hoppy and the roasted malts add a bit of sweeter bitter that reminds me a stout. I couldn’t believe it, my first dark IPA, or at least that I can remember. Can an IPA be dark, I guess the answer is yes. Limited release, mine is almost a year old and still is good, but don’t think I could drink a bunch, Chris was over and helped me out on the 2nd glass.
