Sampler packs are certainly a good way to try a variety of styles without having to look at all the single bottles - that’s exactly how Jon came across this brew that I get to review. This Colorado brewery’s original amber ale poured darker than I expected. Nose has a sweet and mild smokiness, nothing typical of the daily drinker’s beer. The taste is certainly full-bodied as the barley tones are mixed with the bitters throughout, not one after the other. The smokiness that I noticed on the nose, is the same mild taste that lingers after finishing each drink. A good beer, but I think it’s better suited for a colder time of year.
