Wild Dog is not really a brewery, but what I would call the alter ego of Flying Dog. They use this name to brew up some special beers. This beer is a Collaborator Doppelbock. It is the first known open source beer. Meaning that they decided the style (Doppelbock) and accepted ideas from home brewers of what to put in it and in what quanity. The whole recepie is availaible on the opensourcebeerproject.com website. As for the beer itself: It poured a nice brown/red color with a bit of head. The aroma was carmel/fruit/malts, not what I would say the best. The taste did set me back as it did have that fig or other fruit taste to it. Then the malts, and some other flavors which I am not sure of because that fig taste just overwhelmed me. After about 1 full beer, I could ignore the fig, and focus on the malts. The bottle was shared with Chris and some others at his graduation party. Oh by the way, CONGRATS!
