The one beer I had to try was the Lake Erie Monster, an Imperial IPA with huge hop flavor. The golden color and hoppy aroma are good, but its the taste that makes this great. A flowery combination of hops makes this drink taste light despite the 9% punch that I didn’t feel until later. The pallet cleansing dry finish really makes you come back for another drink and I certainly ordered another. Great Lakes Brewing had offered this on tap up until 4/12/08, so look for a 22oz bottle on the shelf of a fisherman who caught a Lake Erie Monster.
