A certified organic beer? I was intrigued and decided to try this Oatmeal Stout from Vermont. The head quickly faded and left only the smooth dark body of the beer in my glass, but it wouldn’t last long either. Coffee and roasted flavors weren’t the surprise, but the extremely clean taste left by the mild carbonation and slightly bitter lingering finish. There is often opposition to dark stouts that they taste a bit ‘burnt’ or are extremely filling; however, I found the deep roasted flavors we enticing and this glass wasn’t filling at all. This certainly was a good find on the quest for the best brew.
