This is a recommended beer by Brad in Cincinnati, Ohio. It poured up with a nice small bubbled head, and a wonder orange/red color. The aroma was that of hops. Love it already Brad! The taste is good. It is smooth at first with the malts, then the bitter of the hops hits you, and finishes clean. A good recommendation by Brad. With a 7% ABV, I could do a couple in a night before heading home.

Malts, malts, malts and malts. 4 types of malts are in this beer. They have been deeply roasted, which gives the beer that dark color you see. The slight head was due to a slow pour by myself. The aroma was that of malts, which you can taste. You taste the malts, the chocolate, and the bitter of both. It is a good porter, and the only down side was a somewhat soapy taste, but that may have been the glass. I will have to try another sometime just to make sure. Make this your next road dog, just don’t drink and drive!

This is apparently a ‘World Classic Beer’ from Austria. The light color and strong aroma give notice that is going to keep it light but be hop heavy. It’s a pilsner and the taste is almost overwhelming. It’s almost watery but the hops hit strong and they really have a bitterness that takes over. It’s incredibly dry and definitely not to my taste.

I’ve never actually had Leinenkugel’s Original before today. The light color and simple nose aren’t what I’m used to because of their many styles of beers. Taste is never short on these beers and this recipe, which started the brewery 140 years ago, is a light flavor that is quite universal. The dry taste that fills the mouth goes down easy and leaves a carbonated taste on the pallet. I will certainly be purchasing some of Leinie’s Original this summer to enjoy and I suggest you do the same.

Another beer from their sampler pack. This one pours up amber, with a nice little head that faded quickly. The aroma off this that of sweet malts. The taste is simple: malts and a bit of hops. This would make a good everyday type of beer. I might open the other one in the sampler while I wait for midnight to roll around and buy the new Wii game.

I am so happy this beer exists. The color is light, the head is slight, and the aroma is citrus (lemon). The taste is that of a wheat beer, but with a slight lemon citrus taste. The lemon reminds me of ice water with lemon in it, and sitting outside on a hot day. This would a perfect substitution to that glass of lemon water. It has a bitter finish that is quite high that I really don’t see in many of the wheat beers I have tried. I will be back to the Anderson’s to pick up another six pack!

Labeled as ‘ Super dry’ it’s a decent drink with the deluxe sushi dinner. The aroma is mild with at best, but the smooth & light flavor pairs well with the fish. I don’t think the that ’super dry’ is the appropriate term for this brew, but the hops certainly add a nice cleansing dryness on the end to finish off the drink.

This is a seasonal beer in it’s 3rd year from Anchor Brewing in San Francisco, CA. A dark beer, with a surprisingly large head that stayed around for a couple of minutes. The aroma is that of caramels and malts. The taste was really good. The caramels and malts came right in, and the bitter of hops at the end. I was left with the taste of malts and bitter when done. I think that I could have a couple of these, but I could not make an evening of them. I really have not had anything outside of the Anchor Steam beer, not even realizing that Anchor was the brand, and Steam was more or less the beer name! A learning experience for me!

This Premium Lager comes from Pittsburgh, PA where the brewery has been around since 1861. The smell is of an American lager, simple and plain. A bright flavor full of hops and an extremely crisp finish are the endearing traits of this beer. So for all you Pennsylvanians, I know the price is right but don’t drink too many of these before you head out to the polls.

S**t, the bottle almost takes my job away from me; “Golden straw color”, “Very hoppy in both aroma and flavor”. You know what, I quit! Just kidding, I couldn’t do that! I really don’t have much to come back with here though. I mean their beer is that color, the smell is hoppy, and the flavor, is well full of hops. A good brew if you ask me. Looking at an American IPA, I wonder if there is a Mexican IPA, or a Canadian IPA… The search is on! Anyways this beer came to me in a lovely 6-pack sampler from the local Kroger. Can’t wait to try the others!
