Another reach into the box of mixed Magic Hat brews, and I pulled out a Jinx. The color of the beer was almost disturbing. It was clear, but a murky brown, like dirty water. By the time I looked at it and took a sniff of it the little bit of head was gone. The aroma had some spice and smoke to it. The taste was very smoky to me. I had a hard time deciding what Magic Hat really wanted me to focus on: the smoke, the bitters, the spices, what?! The smoky flavor ruined this one for me. I will take a smoky scotch, but to have that in a beer… I may stay away others like it.
