I have seen Magic Hat being pushed in movies (Alphadog), in more and more stores and bars. This came from one of the sampler packs I picked up from them. It has been a beer sought after a co-worker, and doing this review will drive him to give up his promise not to drink during lent. #9 poured up with a bit of a head and a nice yellow/orange color. The smell was fruitfully sweet. I do admit that the taste is interesting, and I really get 3 distinct tastes. At first sip I get a sweet beer with hints of orange (they list apricot on the bottle), then after the swallow I get a bitter taste (this must be the also pale ale part), and finally I have an almost dry palate ready for another drink. A final thought: Good artwork, nice quotes under the bottle, and good job keeping beer fun, it of course is a depressant!
