Great Lakes - Edmund FitzgeraldThis classical porter is named after the freighter that disappeared on the Great Lakes many a year ago. There is some extremely dark red colors which may only be visible if held to the light. An aroma of cooking chocolate and coffee is a great indication of how this one tastes. Truly a smooth drink with enough hops to keep it from being heavy – this made an excellent evening drink. This brew is offered stand alone or in their sampler pack filled with many of the other Great Lakes beers we’ve recently reviewed. It should be noted that this brew has no preservatives and should be drank ASAP – I think the last time I had and Edmund Fitzgerald, it was beyond the drink by date and the bitters overtook the greatness of the taste.
