Arcadia Ales - Starboard StoutI was scared when I began pouring this one. There was no head building up on it, and near the end of the bottle, I tried a longer pour and just about a quarter inch formed. I was hoping this was not going to be flat, and thankfully it was not. The color was a dark, dark brown, and the only reason you know it is brown is because of the light brown color in the head. I really can’t tell you the smell right now, again the weather is playing with my nose, but I am sure it smells good. The taste was very nice. It had a smooth nutty, oatmeal and chocolate taste with just a bite of hops at the end of the sip. They list this as their oat malt stout, and it shows in the taste. This brewery being only 1 state away, perhaps Chris and I can visit soon and sample some straight from the source! Good job Arcadia, I will be back for more, and more styles.
