Great Lakes - Christmas AleRemember the holiday spices we talked about in earlier posts(i.e. ginger cinnamon)? Well Great Lakes Brewing has pumped their Christmas Ale full of them. The beautiful copper color of this brew is perfect, you can see the snowflakes right through the glass! This beer received a gold metal at the 2007 World Beer Championships, plus its from Ohio, so basically a must for us to try. On the nose, it has a hoppy and cinnamon aroma. On the tongue, a smooth combination of hops that quickly turns to a cinnamon bite as the beer leaves the pallet. I’m not a big fan of cinnamon, should you do like cinnamon and you like beer, try Christmas Ale from Great Lakes Brewing, it will certainly add some holiday spirit to your season. On the 7th day of Beermas my true love gave to me, cinnamon in my beer and cookies on my plate!
