Medocino - Blue HeronA smooth pale with a mild hop taste to finish, Blue Heron Pale Ale is a very drinkable pale. Apparently this is one of Medocino’s “classic” recipies dating back to 1985, it’s probably older than me! This isn’t as bold as some pale ales I’ve encountered but has light malt flavors that balance well. Normally I try to avoid pales as often the strong bitter hop flavor is a major turnoff, but Blue Heron is one that I will finish off myself.
