Samuel Adams Hallertau Imperial PilsnerTo quote the bottle, this is ‘an intense hop experience’. I was first introduced to this beer a year ago. I was on the brewery tour in Boston, MA for my anniversary and they explained that this is the hoppiest beer they have ever made and that they did not know when it was going to be released. My wife surprised me for our anniversary this year with this beer. What better present could a husband ask for! The tour guide at the brewery explained that they are all about the hops, this beer shows it and proves it! It has a good bitter taste from the hops which I could really feel and taste after the beer went down. At the tour they explained the steps of tasting a beer, and one step was to look at the color and see through their beer. Well this beer has a problem, they put in three times the amount of hops of their other beers, and all the filtration they tried left a cloudy beer still. This is one to try, and hopefully it will be here to stay. I am fearful that it will be short run or seasonal because I have only seen it in four packs.
